Our Story & Mission
A MESSAGE FROM OUR FOUNDER
Glorya Bolden
"I became a mom again overnight — and I realized thousands of grandparents face this alone."
On March 11, 2019, my youngest daughter passed away from kidney failure and I became a mom again of her 4 children. Not much later, I learned that grandparents who accept the responsibility of raising their grandchildren is a growing phenomenon globally.
The Grandparents Community Network was formed August 22, 2022 as a 501(c)(3). Our focus is directly on the children and youth being raised by grandparents and kin.
Our Mission
To uplift grandparents through advocacy, education, and direct needs services — securing the future of grandchildren impacted by systemic neglect, disparities, and broken support structures. We equip these children with the tools, resources, and support they need for healing, resilience, and profitable futures.
